Media Release: Moylan congratulates Northern Tablelands Hidden Treasures

Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan has congratulated two dedicated and hard-working women from the region who were named on the Hidden Treasures Honour Roll 2024.

Uralla’s Rachael Sowden and Moree’s Tian Harris both named on the 74-strong list which recognises the important volunteer roles women and girls play within regional, rural and remote communities across NSW.

Mr Moylan visited both women to thank them for their dedication to their communities as well as congratulate them on being named on the Hidden Treasures Honour Roll.

“These women have given countless hours to many communities and organisations to better the lives of those around them,” he said.

“Ms Sowden has volunteered to give back to many communities across NSW including Balranald, Wilcannia, Collarenebri, Moree, Uralla, Walgett, Bourke, Tamworth, and Bundarra.

“She has dedicated her time to public education, health, disability, and much more.

“Ms Harris has played a huge part in many organisations and projects in the Moree community including the State Emergency Service, Moree Historical Society, Gwydir family history, NSW Dickens Society, Toastmasters, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Moree on a Plate, Moree Evening View Club, and Moree RSL subbranch.

“She was also named Northern Tablelands Woman of the Year in 2024.

“Women like Ms Sowden and Ms Harris allow our communities to flourish, and I thank them for the positive impact they have had on the people in regional NSW.”
