Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan said Glen Innes Severn Council received $10,000 to hold multiple programs over the two weeks while Armidale Regional Council received $4,500 to hold a special catered event.
“The NSW Seniors Festival is aimed at showing older people across the state that they are valued, and we appreciate the way they contribute to our communities,” Mr Moylan said.
“It is fantastic to see two councils in the electorate successful in funding from the NSW Seniors Festival Grant Program so they can hold unique events to actively engage and celebrate older people across the region.
“Glen Innes Severn Council will host ‘Re-Wired’, a two-week multi-venue program with cultural, artistic, creative, wellbeing and freely accessible events.
“Armidale Regional Council will hold an event in Guyra featuring a hot meal, drinks and musical entertainment to encourage older people to remain active, healthy and engaged.
