Library secures $62,000 for modern upgrades

Wednesday, 10 June 2026

Uralla Library users will soon have a new and modern space to work in with a $62,000 grant secured to purchase and install two enclosed pods.

The funding was secured through the State Library of NSW Public Library Infrastructure Grants program which is aimed at helping councils improve the facilities at their local libraries.

Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan met with Uralla Shire Council mayor Robert Bell and librarian Amanda Williams to talk about plans to transform parts of the library.

“The Uralla Library is a space where people of all ages go to read, find information, meet, study and more,” Mr Moylan said.

“The two new pods will have their own temperature control, sound proofing, power and a desk setup which makes for a great space for people to meet and study.

“They will be a great addition to the library, and I am sure the community will enjoy having this additional resource available to them.”

Ms Williams said the pods will provide a quiet space for people to conduct meetings, study or work without interruption.

“The pods will be a great addition to our library for the entire community to use,” she said.

“Libraries are now quite noisy places, so it is nice we have got somewhere for people to work or study.”
