Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan is urging sporting organisations across the region to throw their hat in the ring for Local Sport Grant Program funding.
Applications for grants of $2000 and up to $20,000 are open for grassroots clubs to assist them with delivering programs and improve access to sport.
Mr Moylan said the program allows for a wide variety of projects to receive funding.
“We all know our sporting clubs are central to our communities and often the volunteers are propping them up with minimal resources,” he said.
“From minor infrastructure to the purchasing of equipment, the Local Sport Grant Program allows clubs to complete those projects they just haven’t gotten around to finishing.
“It also allows for the purchasing of medical equipment and insurance to ensure the wellbeing of participants.
“There is a total of $50,000 to spend across the Northern Tablelands so I encourage sporting groups to put forward an application for their smaller projects or plans.”
Applications close 1pm, Monday, 17 August.
