Today I brought a petition to reject the new transmission line corridor Walcha to Bayswater to Parliament on behalf of more than 22,000 signees and communities across Northern Tablelands and Upper Hunter.
Not only did Premier Chris Minns refuse to speak. He didn’t even show up, and his government chose not to participate.
Chris Minns has refused to meet with community groups from Walcha and Upper Hunter since his Labor Government moved the transmission line corridor last year.
Member for the Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan said hundreds of people travelled up to seven hours to be heard from the government, and Chris Minns was hiding in his office.
“Like the Minns Labor Government, this proposed transmission route is a complete mess and has lost all social license,” Mr Moylan said.
An elected NSW Liberals and Nationals Government will scrap the 500 kV transmission line from Walcha and Bayswater.
Mr Moylan said the NSW Liberals and Nationals have a plan to deliver a cheaper, better, and fairer energy system that puts downward pressure on power bills and supports economic growth.
