Media Release: Have your say on updated water sharing plan wetland mapping

Wednesday, 5 March 2025

Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan is urging landholders in the Gwydir Valley to have their say on the updated wetland mapping before the water-sharing plans are finalised later this year by the NSW Government.

The NSW Government has undertaken further analysis of the wetland mapping following feedback from landholders and several regional MPs including Brendan Moylan.

Mr Moylan is advising all landholders in the Gwydir Valley to review the proposed wetlands maps and provide feedback before they are finalised.

“The NSW Government has reviewed the wetland mapping in our valley,” he said.

“I recommend that all landholders take the time to visit the Water NSW website, review the proposed maps and make a submission if they disagree with the updated mapping.”

There will also be a webinar on Wednesday, 12 March from 12.30pm – 1.30pm.

For more information, to view the maps, sign up for the webinar, and make a submission visit dpie.nsw.gov.au/water/our-work/plans-and-strategies/water-sharing-plans/public-exhibition

Submissions close on at 11.59pm on 23 March 2025.
