Inverell Junior Rugby Club has received a big boost for their coming season with Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan delivering funding for new field maintenance equipment through the Local Sport Grant Program.
The club fields teams in the Central North junior competition, with a camp coming up this month, followed by The Armidale School’s carnival, the new equipment’s arrival is perfect timing.
“Like many sports organisations in our towns, Inverell Junior Rugby Club is at the heart of the community,” Mr Moylan.
“It is a very strong club with nearly 200 registered boys and girls, so delivering funding to help it continue to grow is incredibly important and ensures those players can keep thriving.
“The new line-marking equipment purchased through the Local Sport Grant Program will take the pressure off on game day so the club’s hardworking volunteers can focus on what really matters in getting kids out on the field.
“Well done to the Inverell Junior Rugby Club for their success in securing this funding. Hopefully that success can continue throughout the 2026 season.”
Committee member Laura Simpson said the player numbers have increased again this year, and the new equipment will ease the burden on those who put up their hand to coach and manage teams.
“This funding will go towards purchasing a line marker to help us keep our fields safe, well-presented and ready for training, gala days and games each week,” she said.
“A regional town like ours, where the club runs on volunteers, this makes a huge difference by saving time, reducing stress, and letting our volunteers focus on the kids.
“It’s a simple piece of equipment, but it will have a really positive impact on our players, families and everyone who uses the fields as the club continues to grow in coming years.”
